PAY Pizza Ranch Tip Night

The 2019-2020 Philanthropy and Youth group would like to invite everyone out to Pizza Ranch on March 6th, 2020 from 5-8 PM. If you show or bring the flyer, the group gets 10% plus 100% of all donations. All the profits will be given to a grant based on the students decision. We can’t wait to see you all there!

Wapello County Foundation Announces 2018-2019 Grant Recipients

The Wapello County Foundation has given fall grants to local charities and nonprofits. During its three decades of giving, the foundation has donated more than $3.2 million.

In fact, reads a release from the organization, since its founding, nearly every resident has been touched by a program supported by the Wapello County Foundation.

The foundation was founded to enhance the quality of life for all residents of the county. If you’d like to contribute, contact foundation president, Charles Kiple, or go through the South Ottumwa Savings Bank Trust Department.

The president, Kiple, announced $172,634 to 19 beneficiaries this year:

  • Cardinal schools received $1,000 for a scholarship.
  • The Legacy nonprofit summit got $1,500.
  • American Gothic Performing Arts festival received more than $9,000 to buy wireless microphones.
  • American Home Finding received about $21,000 to buy HVAC at the shelter and to remodel the kitchens there and at another property.
  • Blessings Soup Kitchen received $9,876 for new kitchen equipment.
  • Cardinal schools got $7,000 for a baseball scoreboard.
  • City of Ottumwa received $8,300 for a climbing rock and more than $3,000 toward bleachers at the tennis courts.
  • Friends of the Naval Air Station was able to buy the administration building using a grant for $18,750.
  • The iJag program got $5,000 to help students overcome barriers.
  • Main Street Ottumwa received more than $4,000 for recycling bins.
  • The Ottumwa Amateur Radio Club picked up $3,030 for a repeater.
  • Ottumwa Community Chorus got $2,100 for chorus attire.
  • Ottumwa Civic Music Association received $2,000 for the Doo Wah Rider performance.
  • Ottumwa Schools, specifically Wilson Elementary School, got $39,244 toward its new playground.
  • The Ottumwa Community Thanksgiving Dinner got a donation of $2,500.
  • The Ottumwa YMCA got $8,400 toward windows and air conditioning.
  • The Ottumwa Symphony received $2,000.
  • Seton Catholic School received $5,000 toward work on its playground.
  • Southeast Iowa Symphony got $2,000.
  • Tenco Industries was given more than $12,000 toward remodeling.
  • Victory Ranch received more than $4,000.
